We invite you to join the College and University Mail
Services Association (CUMSA).
CUMSA
was established in 1988 as an organization to establish
standards, promote ethics, and foster professionalism
for campus mail personnel.
Membership is open to
all educational institutions that have curriculum
leading to an appropriate certificate of degree.
PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
CUMSA
promotes and maintains high
professional standards. Through annual meetings
CUMSA
encourages its members to
seek professional recognition by obtaining the IPMA
Certified Mail Manager designation and administers the
testing at annual meetings. Membership in
CUMSA
provides excellent networking opportunities with other
college and university mail service personnel and
provides a forum for discussion of common concerns,
problems, ideas, and solutions.

association.)

members.

provide a means through which
CUMSA
members’ knowledge and

MEMBERSHIP
Member
institutions are represented by individuals responsible
for and/or managerially associated with the operation of
a college or university mail services department and who
are directly responsible to and paid directly by the
college or university. Currently 88 institutions hold
active memberships in
CUMSA
and 106 others are
associate members.

AFFILIATIONS
CUMSA
is affiliated with other regional mail services
associations and the National Association of Colleges
and University Mail Services (NACUMS). CUMSA provides a
representative each year to NACUMS. This representative
serves on the Board of Directors of NACUMS with all the
authority as other elected NACUMS board members. The
role of this representative is to share the concerns and
interests of
CUMSA
on a national
level.
CUMSA
is a nonpartisan, non sectarian, and a not for profit
association.
